Note: Key plot points for the third episode of Campaign 4 are included.
The Warrior Group Introduced
The third episode ended with a huge suspense moment and revealed the premier party of heroes who will branch out from the main group to begin their separate journey, distinct from the additional parties.
The Soldiers table features the determined fighter (played by Travis Willingham), the agile character (Laura), Tyranny (Whitney), Wicander (Sam), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie Daymond).
Why Split the Party?
Given 13 cast members, it was evident from the start that having everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.
This explains, the opening chapters of the new season serve as an Overture, intertwining the characters’ stories before dividing into three distinct groups: Soldiers, Strategists, and Explorers.
What Defines the Soldiers Table
According to Brennan Lee Mulligan, the combat-focused party is for participants who enjoy a typically action-packed fight-heavy gameplay experience where peaceful solutions are rare.
Initially, figures such as the squeamish cleric Wicander might seem out of place, but the events of the latest installment show why these particular heroes are best suited for the combat party.
Reasons to Leave
First, the party knows exactly where to head next after a violent opening clash with the antagonists.
An old friend of Thjazi Fang—whose death initiated the story’s plot—used the enemy for his personal gain, breaking into the secret base, assaulting the rogue, and stealing all the enchanted items to sell off.
Casimir then settled his liabilities and escaped to a fortified location in Gormalay, Timmony, beyond the urban center, with Teor’s brother pursuing him.
Individual Reasons
Secondly, each character has a individual motive to exit Dol-Makjar:
- The rogue, as Thjazi’s partner and best friend, desires retribution.
- The knowledgeable figure is familiar with the northern area and warns that it is a hostile place.
- The strong character and Wicander, having disobeyed his relatives’ demands to kill the target and instead freed him, have no other options.
- Yet, their status as prominent individuals in House Halovar could assist the group enter places they usually can’t.
- Moreover, The grateful character pledged a unbreakable promise to The savior for his deliverance and will now follow him anywhere.
Fugitives
In addition, all of them are hunted by the powers that control the city for a variety of reasons, making staying in the city no longer safe:
- The rogue and The hero are known criminals.
- Tyranny and The healer defied the powerful family and the legion of demons they are aligned with.
- The fighter is targeted for elimination by the clan.
This means them no alternative but to journey toward Timmony in search of the traitor.
Future Episodes
From the latest episode’s follow-up content, we discover that the Soldiers table won’t be around in the upcoming installment, leaving the remaining eight players to round up the Explorers and Strategists tables.
Audiences can look forward to discovering which players will be in which group in the season’s concluding setup installment, available to watch on the upcoming Thursday.
